Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf and Spa is a family owned and run hotel with an interesting history. Located in 300 acres of beautiful Constable Country on the Suffolk and Essex border, the area is recognised as an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" and has been captured in the paintings of famous local artists Gainsborough and Constable.
The Peake family have been farming in Suffolk for well over 60 years. Apple growing was always their main activity and in 1969 Copella farm-pressed English apple juice was born - in the farmhouse kitchen! A year or so after launching Copella, the Peakes decided that they would convert 300 acres of the magnificent, undulating Constable Country into two 18 hole golf courses - The Gainsborough Course and the Constable Course - both named after the famous local artists. With conservation always a priority, the Peakes planted 60,000 trees which now line the fairways and form many areas of indigenous woodland that surround the hotel. Over 20 different varieties of apples are still produced today in their orchards surrounding the hotel, golf courses and beyond.
There are a variety of dining options throughout the hotel, with inspired menus guaranteed to tantalize your taste buds. Many of the restaurants take in stunning, panoramic views across the golf course and lake and the two elevated terraces are perfect for alfresco dining and drinks. The inspirational menus use only the freshest local in-season produce.
The Lounge Bar is the perfect place to relax with its superb central open fireplace burning sweet-smelling apple wood from the hotel farm and serves afternoon tea, hot food and snacks.
More than half the bedrooms are air-conditioned and a further third have two double beds, whilst others have excellent golf course views.

- The prize draw closes at midnight on the 30th July, 2010, and the prize winner will be notified by the 6th August, 2010.
- The prize is for two people sharing a standard double or twin bedroom for two nights, including breakfast each morning and 3-course dinner each night.
- The winner must book their prize break within 6 months of the prize notification date and stay within 9 months of the prize notification date.
- This prize is subject to availability and cannot be redeemed on specific dates including Christmas, New Year's Eve, Bank Holidays, Valentine's night/weekend, Easter weekend and dates around major events local to the hotel.
- Any additional expenses incurred during the stay - such as telephone calls and use of items from the minibar - must be paid for on departure from the hotel.
